2001 Conference

The 2001 North American Cohousing Conference at the University of California, Berkeley was a great success with record numbers of participants.
In addition to presentations and workshops, special events included an auction and a “doctor-is-in” session in which experienced cohousers and cohousing professionals answered individual questions.
Eric Utne, emeritus editor of the Utne Reader, delivered a public lecture titled, “Changing the World and Yourself by Creating Community.”
Four special events took place before and after the main conference: a consensus and group process workshop, a professionals' day, the “Getting it built” workshop, and a bus tour of cohousing communities.
Participant comments
“Fabulously helpful and informative for someone thinking about joining a cohousing group.”
“Excellent - I am invigorated and ready to get back into it!”
“Fantastic! Well worth the money spent - what I got will save us thousands of dollars and hours of heartache!”
“A wonderful array of topics - great people - an inspiration for us to take back to our fellow cohousers.”
