A group of households and individuals working together to create a residential community in the urban East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay area.

The mission of East Bay Cohousing is to develop a cohousing community in the urban East Bay based upon the following shared values and goals: private unit ownership with shared, smoke-free common space and common meals; desire to live in an intentional community; consideration, kindness, and respect toward other community members; willingness to compromise, cooperate, share leadership, and make decisions by consensus; desire for an environmentally sustainable lifestyle.

East Bay Cohousing has been meeting since November 1998. Our membership is dynamic and committed to creating a warm, vibrant residential community within a few years. We are currently in the planning stage and meet for monthly general meetings/potlucks and regular committee meetings. Our committees include Development, Operations, and Membership/Process.

East Bay Cohousing is currently recruiting new members. Regularly scheduled orientations are available for interested households and individuals.
