About the Cohousing Website

This is the "soft-release" of the Cohousing Website, version 8.5 Beta Release. Beta Releases are used to identify problems and gather useful information before the Full Release. Our Beta period will end when the next 9.0 Beta Release Goes Live, scheduled for January 31, 2009 - or, possibly, will formally take it out of Beta before that time. That the 8.5 Beta is a "soft release" means that we are releasing it to the world without formally releasing it, i.e., making a big deal about it. We'll start making a big deal with a BIG LAUNCH starting on June 12, 2008 and extending across the 2008 National Cohousing Conference.

There are many ways that you can get involved to help us get this "finished" for our BIG JUNE 12 LAUNCH. One easy way is to report bugs or issues that you encounter. You can report this in different ways - but the only one that really matters to us is by going to the New Members area and reporting issues in the new Members Forum. Once there, you can also navigate to the most appropriate Forum Topic, then press the "Post a Comment" link under the page title,

Thanks!

The Coho/US board of directors gratefully acknowledges all of those who have contributed to version 8.5 of the Cohousing Website.

The Version 8.5 Web Team particularly appreciates those who worked on the previous 8 versions - we had the great fortune of building upon the work of others who went before. We are all the beneficiaries of the many cohousers and cohouser wanna-bes that have shared so much information, insight, time (and money that has helped pay some for their work).

While most of the people who have contributed over the years must remain unnamed, we have pieced together some of the website's history. If you are among the unnamed, please step forward and identify yourself and help us better document from whence we came.

This new version of the website is built on Drupal and CiviCRM. More information on Version 8.5 can be found in the new Members Area.
